Getting Started

Do players need to download an app?
No. Players join by scanning a QR code at the venue. Everything runs in their mobile browser — no installs, no accounts, no friction.
How long does it take to set up a game?
Most organisers are up and running in under 10 minutes. Create an account, add your stops and questions, print the QR codes, and start.
Can I try Huntly before paying?
Yes — the Free plan is free forever. Create a game with up to 3 teams at no cost to test the full organiser and player experience.

Players & Teams

How many players can join a game?
There's no hard limit on total players. You set the number of teams, and teams can share one device among as many people as you like.
Do players need to create an account?
No. Players only enter a team name and player names when they join. No email, no password, no account required.
What phones and browsers are supported?
Any modern smartphone with a camera and browser works. iOS Safari, Android Chrome, Firefox — if it can scan a QR code and load a webpage, it works.

Pricing & Billing

What does "1 event, 30 days" mean on the Event plan?
You get access to 1 game for 30 days from purchase. You can run the game as many times as you like within that window.
Is there a per-player fee?
No. Huntly has no per-player fees at any tier. Pay for the plan and run your event with as many participants as you need.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Pro is a monthly subscription with no lock-in. Cancel any time from your account settings — you keep access until the end of the billing period.
Do you offer discounts for schools or nonprofits?
Yes — reach out via the contact page and we'll sort something out.

Running a Game

What happens when my event ends?
The game is archived and team data is cleaned up automatically. Your session history is saved so you can review results later (Event plan and above).
Can I approve open-ended answers manually?
Yes. Open-ended answers appear in a queue in the organiser dashboard. You approve or reject each one in real time while the game is running.
Can players see each other's progress?
Yes — the live leaderboard at /leaderboard/[game] updates in real time. You can display it on a screen at the venue or share the URL with players.
What if a player's phone loses connection mid-game?
Each stop page is independent — players just reload and continue. Answers already submitted are saved. The game does not require a persistent connection.
